Wire Wound Benefits- Defining Characteristics of Wire Wound Type Resistors

PRC specializes in custom precision wire wound resistors, sensors, shunts & compensators exclusively. Our products are designed for low power ceiling applications, ranging to a max of 10 Watts, depending on part type and intended to be implemented in D.C. powered circuits.

Our wire wound parts are designed & constructed specifically to emit very low EMF & are quality controlled through the use of constant temperature oil baths to eliminate inconsistencies. They are inherently stable vs. time allowing for repeatable precision or accuracy from +/- 1% to as close as 1/200% (0.005%) and offer much improved overload capabilities when compared with other resistive materials which serve as economical fail safe solutions

We offer a versatile selection including both two and four terminal axial lead / through-hole, two and four tab surface mount, probe, also known as radial or printed circuit type & certain Mil-Styles. Modification of our standard catalog parts are also available in most cases, enabling a truly custom "made-to-fit" solution that your critical application demands.

(+) Positive Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) temperature compensators with a diverse selection of TCRs along with ultra low TC options from +/- 20 (.002%) down to +/- 1 PPM/Deg. C. (.0001%) as well as both standard inductive windings and non-inductive reverse-pi style winding patterns offered.

PRC's wire wounds are custom designed, allowing for adjustments of the measured resistance, resistance tolerance & TCR including low value "Kelvin Style" four-terminal precision current sensing shunts ideal for measuring voltage drops.
