Largo, Florida U.S.A., October 14, 2008--The MS Series allows engineers to easily plug in our electrical shunt directly to most direct current (D.C.) digital multi-meters, indicating accurate current measurements up to 50 amperes across a wide temperature span from -65°C. to +275°C. The MS Series is ideal for a variety of meters, increasing their capabilities, enabling D.C. readings from meters that only have a voltage measuring function, converting a voltage meter to an ampere meter. These low-cost premium shunts are equipped with heavy duty commercially pure copper test leads. Four terminal leads are also available for very accurate current sensing applications with extremely low EMF emitted. If you are looking for an easy and inexpensive method to test for high current in charging systems for motorcycles, ATVs, personal water crafts & other recreational type vehicles, then PRC's popular MS-40 Meter Shunts are the clear choice. The MS Series can be customized for 50 mV & 100 mV applications, available in a wide variety of ohmic values up to 100 ohms, tolerances to 0.005% & T.C.R. characteristics to 10 parts per million (ppm). Our standard MS-40 is in stock, readily available for immediate sale and delivery via our online store, please visit: www.precisionresistor.com for more details on utilizing the volt drop method.

PRC is a worldwide custom manufacturer of precision electronic components including precision fixed wire wound resistors, sensors, shunts & compensators for critical applications. News Archive-PVS5 Press Release

PVS5 WIRE WOUND ELECTRICAL SHUNT MAINTAINS STABILITY & PRECISION CURRENT SENSING CAPABILITIES SUBSEQUENT TO EXTREME TEMPERATURES OF MOST REFLOW OVEN AUTOMATED SOLDERING PROCESSES

CLICK HERE FOR THE PVS SERIES

Largo, Florida U.S.A., July 1, 2008---Precision Resistor Company (PRC) has now expanded the capabilities of our vastly successful PVS series to include the new PVS5 rated to handle nearly twice the amount of power than the previous best part, the PVS3. A long time client & major over seas electronic manufacturer came to us with the desire to improve on the PVS3 so it could handle more power while being able to dissipate the ambient heat associated with re-flow ovens. These ovens are commonly used by major manufacturers to attach electrical components to circuit boards. PRC proved up to the task by designing the PVS5 complete with a much stronger epoxy resin ratio mixture that could withstand the temperatures seen in most standard re-flow ovens while ensuring the parts do not drift out of close tolerances. In short, we were able to improve on an old part while adhering to the tight electrical specifications associated with the PVS series, allowing one of our most prominent & consistent buyers to have great success in the developing and production of their new application.
