RoHS Directive

Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive:

Committed to comply with all national and international laws and requirements, PRECISION RESISTOR COMPANY (PRC) has implemented the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive and begun exclusively using lead-free solders on all incoming orders placed after April 1, 2005.

In certain cases, purchase orders may be filled partially or completely from our stock inventory, until PRC's stock is depleted. Therefore, we are asking our customers to please indicate on your purchase order(s) if you require PRC's products to be compliant with the RoHS / RoHS2 Directive.

Currently, we offer both a Pb-based solder for Govt, DoD & Aerospace customers as well as a Pb-free solder mixture consisting of tin, silver and copper (sn-ag-cu).

Be sure to specify on your PO whether your application demands Pb or Pb-free solder.

2002/95/EC

Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS 2) Recast

2011/65/EU

Of the six restricted hazardous substances: Lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, cadmium, and specific bromine-based flame-retardants PBB (polybrominated biphenyl) and PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl), only Lead directly affects PRC's end-products.

With the exemption issued by the ECHA under the Recast regulation, it is now possible for PRC to ship parts with Pb-based solder while maintaining the RoHS Compliance status providing the specific country's governing laws do not contradict it.
